지방대학 대학생의 자기주도적 학습참여 결정요인 유형 및 특성연구

Major factor types and characteristics of self-directed academic engagement among local college students

본 연구는 Q방법론을 이용한 지방대학 대학생의 자기주도적 학습참여 결정요인 유형 및 특성을 밝히고자 하였다. 연구의 자료수집과정은 K지역의 3개 대학 98명의 학생들을 대상으로 focus group interview와 설문지를 실시하여 수집된 191개의 진 술문을 바탕으로 최종 47개의 Q표본을 확정하였다. 30명의 P표본을 대상으로 47개의 카드를 자신의 선호도에 따라 11점 척도의 정규 분포표에 분류하게 하였고 분류후 개별적 면담을 실시하여 최종 5가지 유형이 도출되었다. 분석 결과, 제1 유형은, 미래의 꿈을 이루기 위해 목표 지향적 태도를 보이는 목표지향형, 제 2유형은 열심히 노력하지만 뚜렷한 학습목표가 부재한 주변중시형, 제 3유형은 학습 후 느끼는 성취경험과 이로 인한 인정과 칭찬의 보상을 중시하는 성공 경험 중심형, 제 4유형은 승부욕, 환경조성 등의 학습동기유발이 중요한 의미를 갖는 동기유발 중심형, 그리고 제 5유형은 학습에 대한 흥미와 배움의 즐거움을 중시하는 의미추구형으로 명명하였다. 본 연구의 의의는 유형별 분류를 통해 자기주도적 학습참여의 결정요인을 알아보고 향후 이들을 위한 학습상담에 활용될 수 있는 기본 자료를 제공하는데 있다.

This study using Q-methodology was to distinguish types and characters for self-directed academic engagement among local college students. In order to collect the data, the focus group interview, surveys and literature review were collected 191 statement through 98 college students at 3 different colleges in Kwang-Ju, and finally 47 Q-statements were collected. The subjects were asked to place statements on a rank-ordered 11-point continuum and then follow-up interviewed for the Q-sorting with 30 participants using 1: 1 interview. As a result, 5 types of self-directed engagement types came out; the first type was defined as ‘Goal-centered’ who is future-oriented in order to achieve future dream, the second type was defined as ‘environment/others-centered’ who is effective learner without concrete goals for learning, the third type was defined as ‘achievement experience-centered’ who is focused on achievement experience and satisfaction after studying, the fourth type was defined as ‘motivation-centered’ competitive environment makes this type to study more and the fifth type was defined as ‘meaning-centered’ to study because of fun and joy from learning. The findings of this study are expected to supply materials for the improvement of basic data to develop academic achievement counseling for college students.
