공감교육 교사연수프로그램 개발을 위한 기초연구

Basic Research for Developing Teacher Training Program of Empathy Education

본 연구는 현직 교사 대상의 현행 교사연수에서 공감교육이 세부 주제로 다루어지고 있는 현황을 파악하고 공감교육에 대한 교사의 인식과 요구를 알아봄으로써 공감교육 교사연수 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초 자료를 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 초중등 교사를 대상으로 하는 전체 연수과정 중 공감교육 관련 내용이 포함된 교사연수 현황을 분석하였으며, 초․중 교사 457명을 대상으로 공감교육 교사연수에 대한 인식 및 요구를 조사하였고, 교사 및 교육청 연수담당자 7명을 대상으로 공감 교육 교사연수 운영현황 및 내용에 대해 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 분석한 결과 첫째, 15개 교육청 전체 교사연수과정 288개 강좌 중 공감교육이 포함된 강좌는 총 45개이고, 강좌에 포함된 내용은 주로 상담 및 생활지도 등이었다. 둘째, 공감교육 교사연수에 대한 인식 및 요구를 보면 공감교육 연수를 받아본 경험은 “없다”는 반응이 64.3%였으며, 공감교육 연수가 실시 된다면 참여하겠다는 교사가 82.9%였다. 셋째, 공감교육 교사연수에 대한 요구를 조사한 결과 교육내용은 ‘교사와 학생 간, 학생들 간의 공감적 의사소통 방법’과 ‘수업외 활동에서 공감을 향상시키는 학생지도 방법’에서 높게 나타났다. 교사연수 운영에 대해 교사들은 문제해결중심의 실천 연수, 상호작용하는 소통과 대화 기반 연수, 경험하고 체험하는 연수, 연수 강사진으로는 현직교사 및 전문가가 참여하는 연수가 필요한 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구결과를 기초로 공감교육 교사연수프로그램 개발을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this research is to present basic materials that help to develop teacher training program of empathy education by analyzing how the topic of empathy is being covered specifically in the teacher training at present and examining teacher s perception and demand for the empathy education. To do this, the current state of empathy-related training in the teacher training course for elementary, middle, and high school teachers was analyzed. Also, 457 elementary and middle school teachers were surveyed to find out their opinions and demand for teacher training of empathy education and 7 teachers and officials in charge of training in the Education Office were interviewed about the direction of teacher training of empathy education. The findings of the study were as follows. First, as a result of analyzing 45 lectures related to empathy education out of 288 training course lectures provided by 15 Education Office and categorizing them, lectures about empathy education were mainly included in the course for counselling(guidance of life). Secondly, as a result of analyzing the perception of teacher training related to empathy education, there was a high response rate which showed empathy education training is necessary for teachers and helpful for teaching and guiding students. Many respondents said they wanted to take part in the training. Thirdly, Regarding the demand for teacher training of empathy education, the two topics were in high demand: how to have an empathetic communication between teachers and students or between students, how to guide students in order to improve empathy in extracurricular activities. As a result of the interview about the ideas of managing teacher training, some kinds of training were in high demand: problem-solving centered practice training, interactive communication and conversation centered training, experience centered training, training course where current teachers and experts are invited as a lecture. Lastly, some implications for developing teacher training program of empathy education were suggested based on the results of this research.
