대학교양교육에서 환경교육 내실화를 위한 강의 개선 연구

A Study on the Improvement of Environmental Education for the Enrichment in Liberal Art Based on Learner s Need Analysis

본 연구에서는 변화하는 교양교육의 패러다임에 부응하고, 대학의 환경교육의 질을 담보하기 위하여 학습자의 요구를 반영한 교양 환경강좌의 개선 방안을 마련하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 2012년 1학기와 2학기에 연구자들이 담당했던 A 대학교의 교양교과목 <환경과 인간>의 강의 내용 전반과 수강생들을 연구 대상으로 하여 설문조사와 집단 면담을 통해 학습자의 요구를 조사하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 교양 환경강좌의 강의 내용은 주제들 간의 연결성 확보와 쉬운 이해를 도울 수 있는 적절한 자료의 선택이 밑받침 되어야 한다. 또한 교양 환경강좌의 강의 방식은 학습자와 교수자, 학습자간 상호 교류와 소통이 효율적으로 이루어질 수 있도록 토론 및 모둠 활동 등을 다양하고 체계적으로 구성하는 것이 바람직하다. 이와 같은 학습자의 요구가 반영된 대학 환경교육 프로그램은 후속된 강의 개선 실행 연구의 토대로서 활용되었다. 이 연구는 강의자들은 수업전문성 신장과 기존에 미흡했던 고등 교육기관의 교육 연구 및 실행을 확장의 측면에서 의의를 가진다. 다만 자료의 수집 시기와 분석 시기의 간극에 따른 일반화의 한계는 보완이 필요하다.

This study aimed for the development of a Environmental Education course in Liberal Art at a university based on learner s need analysis. On first and second semesters of 2012, researchers conducted environmental course in Liberal Art. In order to analyze the needs of students, researchers used a survey and a group interviewing as qualitative research. The results showed that it is important to ensure connectivity between the subjects and to select the data for easy understanding of learners in terms of environmental course content. Meanwhile, it is desirable to efficiently organize discussions and group work for facilitating communication of learners in terms of way of teaching. The process and results of this study helped to develop a teaching expertise of researchers. There is significance in that this study extends the new academic field of higher education research and execution.
