초등학생들의 신문을 활용한 토의 학습이 과학 자아효능감과 태도에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Discussion Learning Using Newspaper on Elementary Students Science Self-Efficacy and Attitudes

본 연구는 신문을 활용한 토의 학습이 학생들의 과학 자아효능감과 태도에 미치 는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 초등학교 6학년 2개 학급 50명을 대상으로 실험집단 과 비교집단을 선정하여 6학년 1학기 3단원 ‘계절의 변화’와 4단원 ‘생태계와 환경’ 을 실험집단에서는 신문을 활용한 토의 학습 지도안을 작성하여 수업을 하고, 비교 집단에서는 지도서를 활용한 일반적인 활동으로 수업을 진행하였다. 수업 실시 전과 후, 과학 자아효능감에 있어 유의미한 차이가 있었으며, 과학태도에 있어 수업 실시 후 실험집단과 비교집단 사이에 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 신문을 활용한 토의 학습 과학 수업은 학생의 과학 자아효능감과 태도를 향상시킬 수 있다는 측면에서 현장 에서 활용할 충분한 가치가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of discussion learning using newspaper in science classes on science self-efficacy and attitudes. The subjects of this curriculum model were the sixth grade pupils of both an experimental class (25 students) and a comparative class (25 students). Teaching change of season , ecosystem and environment lesson through discussion learning using newspaper was applied to an experimental class and teaching with a teacher s guide book was applied to a comparative class. Regarding science self-efficacy, there was no significant difference in the pre-test and post-test results on the comparative group, but there was a significant difference in the results of the experimental group. The science attitudes score of the experimental group improved, which has a meaningful difference compared with the comparative group. Therefore it is worthy to take advantage of the discussion learning using newspaper in science classes.
