Traditional market is a meaningful place with memory, joy and sorrows of local residents where they share their tidings based on the original function of selling and buying the local principal products which sustains the regional economy. Due to the sudden change of distribution environment, most of the traditional markets are experiencing decline with their competitiveness weakened. In this situation, strengthening the competitiveness of traditional markets are needed. In order to do that, each traditional market must promote a merchandising, at least one differentiation good, strengthen support in the fields of online and social commerce marketing and an intense areal marketing in preparation of large supermarket s delivery services. In addition, for the political tasks, the effective promotion of distribution harmony, review of the limit system in types of retailers, the establishment of the mid and long term development plan of Jeju traditional market, the construction of traditional-like facility and the reinforcement of contents are needed. Especially, securing the preferential food items as well as the hands on entertainment and differentiated souvenirs for all tourists are essentials to secure the competitiveness of Jeju regional tradition markets. Enforcing the management and marketing education to traditional market owners are also important for sustainable competitiveness. Not only that, using the big data, which will avoid customers defections and draw the strategy to strengthen the competitiveness, must be examined in depth.
