장애학생의 교육적 통합을 위한 통합 학급에서의 보편적 음악 학습 설계

Universal Music Learning Design for Curriculum Integration in Inclusive Classes

음악교육의 목표는 장애 유무에 관계없이 모든 학생들에게 다양한 음악 활동을 제공하고 이를 통해 ‘음악의 아름다움을 경험’하게 하며, ‘음악을 삶 속에서 향유할 수 있는 능력’을 길러주고, ‘개인과 공동체 의식의 발달’을 촉진하는 데 있다. 또한 통합 학급의 음악 수업에서, 진정한 의미의 통합교육(inclusive education)이란 일반학생과 장애학생의 공간적ㆍ물리적 통합이 아니라 교육적 통합의 실천을 의미한다. 이를 위해서는 일반학생과 장애학생의 교육적 요구를 모두 담을 수 있는 통합교육의 개념과 방향, 교수ㆍ학습 방법 등의 이론적 기반이 필요하다. 이러한 개념으로 최근에 대두되는 것이 보편적 학습 설계(Universal Design for Learning: UDL)이다. 본 연구의 목적은 통합교육의 이론적인 기반으로서 보편적 설계의 개념과 보편적 학습 설계의 원리를 고찰하고, 보편적 학습 설계의 원리에 따른 보편적 음악 학습 설계의 적용 방안 및 기본 틀을 제시함으로써, 통합학급의 음악 수업에 있어 장애학생의 교육적 통합을 위한 학문적 토대를 마련하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 보편적 학습 설계의 일곱 가지 원리와 각 원리에 따른 지침들을 음악교과의 관점에서 이해하고 음악 수업과 연계하여 보편적 음악 학습 설계의 적용 방안을 제시하였으며, 음악 학습의 목표, 내용, 방법 및 매체, 평가, 환경을 중심으로 하는 보편적 음악 학습 설계의 기본 틀을 제시하였다.

The object of music education is to provide various music activities for all students, regardless of a disability, and to let students to experience the beauty of music , to grow the ability to enjoy music in life , and to promote the development of community and individual spirit . The true meaning of inclusive education is not the spatial/physical integration between special and general students. Rather, it is the educational integration between them. Therefore, a theoretical foundation that can cover the educational needs of both special and general students is required. Recently, the concept of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) has emerged as the theoretical foundation for curriculum integration in inclusive classes. The purpose of this study was twofold. First, the concept of universal design and the seven principles of universal design for learning were considered, followed by the development of an academic basis of inclusive music education for students with disabilities. These goals were achieved by presenting applications and a framework of universal design for music learning that conform to the principles of universal design for learning. This study considered the seven principles of universal design for learning and the guidelines for each principle in the aspect of music discipline. The application of universal design for music learning connected to a music class is presented. In addition, this study presents a framework of universal design for music learning that concentrates on the goals, the contents, the methods/media, evaluation, and the music learning environment.
