TGT 협동학습이 수학과 문제해결력 및 수학적 태도에 미치는 효과

Effects of Cooperative Learning through TGT Model on Mathematical Problem Solving and Mathematics Related Attitudes

본 연구의 목적은 TGT 협동학습이 수학과 문제해결력 및 수학적 태도에 미치는 효과를 검증하는데 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 초등학교 6학년 2개 학급 56명을 대상으로, 12주에 걸쳐서 TGT 협동학습과 설명식 수업을 실시하였다. TGT 협동학습의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 공변량 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, TGT 협동학습은 설명식 수업에 비하여 수학과 문제해결력 및 수학적 태도에 있어서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 특히 수학적 태도의 하위 변인 중에서 성공기대, 자신감, 열의 변인에서 유의한 차이가 발견되었다(p<.05). 이러한 연구 결과를 볼 때, TGT 협동학습은 수학과 문제해결력 및 수학적 태도에 효과적이며, 특히 수학과에 대한 학생들의 성공기대, 자신감, 열의에 있어서 효과적인 교수방법임을 발견할 수 있었다. 따라서, TGT 협동학습은 수학과의 기초·기본 능력이라고 할 수 있는 문제해결력을 향상시키는 동시에, 수학교과에 대한 성공기대, 자신감, 열의와 같은 수학적 태도를 향상시키는데 효과적인 교수방법이라고 할 수 있다. 교실 수업 개선의 일환으로 전통적인 설명식 수업에서 벗어나 TGT 협동학습을 적용하여 학생들의 문제해결력과 수학적 태도를 개선할 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of cooperative learning through a team games tournament(TGT) model on mathematical problem solving and mathematics related attitudes. This study was conducted using 56 students of sixth-grade class in a elementary school. This study were executed over 12 weeks. In this study, the experimental group were exposed to cooperative learning through TGT model and comparison group were exposed to a traditional teacher-centered expository instruction. The results show that TGT model of experimental group had a greater effect upon the mathematical problem solving and mathematics related attitudes that those of comparison group. Additionally, TGT model effect on chance of success, eagerness, confidence of mathematics.
