2007년 개정 교육과정에 따른 교과서 개발의 방향

The Directions for the Textbook Development Based on 「The 2007 Revised National Curriculum」 in Korea

본 연구는 2007년 개정 교육과정에 따라 향후 교과서 개발은 어떻게 이루어지는 것이 바람직한 것인지를 논의하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 새 교육과정 개정의 주요 방향과 내용을 검토하였으며, 이에 따른 교과서 개발의 방향으로 다음의 다섯 가지를 제안하였다. 첫째, 교육과정의 수시 개정 방식에 따른 교과서 개발 및 수시 개편의 문제로, 새 교육과정 개정에 따른 장기적인 교과서 개발체제 수립과 관련하여 ‘교과서 상시 개편 방식’을 제안하였다. 둘째, 교육과정에 대한 단위학교의 자율적 편성․운영권 확대에 따른 교과서 개발 및 검정 기준의 문제로, 해당 교과의 연간 최소 교육과정 기준(32주)에 따라 구성하되 일정 범위 내에서 증감이 가능하도록 교과 내용이 ‘기준’으로 해석될 필요가 있으며, 재구성 혹은 대체 가능한 내용에 대해서는 해당 교과서 내용 하단부에 아이콘 형식으로 표기될 수 있음을 제안하였다. 셋째, 학기 집중 이수제에 따른 특정 교과의 교과서 개발 문제로, 해당 교과서의 별도 개발의 어려움과 이러한 어려움은 단원이나 주제 설정을 보다 창의적인 방식으로 접근함으로써 해결될 수 있음을 제시하였다. 넷째, 수준별 수업의 강화에 따른 수준별 수업 교과서와 보조 교재 개발의 문제로, 보조 교과서의 경우 지역 및 학교 규모, 학생의 개인차를 고려하여 다양한 내용과 방법으로 구성할 것을 제안하였다. 다섯째, 교과 교육과정의 내용 적정화에 따른 교과서 내용의 양과 수준의 문제로, 해당 교과의 성격, 목표, 내용, 방법, 평가 등의 요소를 충실히 반영하되 학습내용은 32주 분량, ‘최소필수 학습요소’를 중심으로 구성할 것을 제안하였다.

The purpose of the present study was to suggest the directions for the development of textbooks based on the recently announced national curriculum guidelines. For this purpose, this research dealt with the main directions and contents about the revised curriculum, and proposed the 5 directions for the development of textbooks. The results of the study were as follows: First, on the basis of the issues for textbook development and the constant revision of that according to the constant and partial revision of national curriculum, the results proposed \ the system of constant textbook revision\ . Second, based on the partial admission on the autonomy of curriculum organization and implementation at the school levels, the study gave clear indication that the subject contents could be interpreted as an \ standard\ , not as the \ essential\ . Third, the outcomes indicated that the problems of textbook development based on the \ semester intensive course\ could be solved with the creative approaching on the establishment of the units or/and themes. Fourth, the results suggested that the development of textbook for the differentiated instruction should be constructed by various contents and methods according to the local level, school sizes and students\ individual characteristics. Fifth, volume and level of textbook contents, the every subject contents should be constructed according to the contents for 32weeks focused on the \ minimal and essential\ elements of knowledge, and developed on the basic characteristics, objectives, contents, instruction and evaluation in each subject matter.
