현실적 존재와 교육받은 사람의 특성 :

A Study on the qualities of A. N. Whitehead\ s actual entities and the educated man.

이 연구의 목적은 유기체 철학의 현실적 존재와 교육받은 사람의 특성을 고찰하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 Ⅰ장에서는 유기체 철학의 핵심 개념인 현실적 존재의 특성에 대해 Whitehead의 설명을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 구체적 내용은 관계적 존재로서의 현실적 존재, 자기초월적 주체로서의 현실적 존재, 창조적 존재로서의 현실적 존재이다. 그런 다음 Whitehead의 교육적 사유가 집약된 『교육의 목적』을 중심으로 교육받은 사람의 특성에 대해 고찰하였다. 교육받은 사람은 지식을 활용하는 기예를 지니고 있으며, 지적 모험을 하며, 통합적인 지적 안목을 추구하며, 품격을 지닌 사람이다. Whitehead의 교육받은 사람에 대한 논의는 그의 유기체 철학, 특히 그의 유기체 철학의 핵심 개념인 현실적 존재의 특성과 관련지어 이해할 때, 그 의미가 분명히 드러나는 개념이다. 그리고 교육받은 사람의 특성에 대한 논의를 통해 유기체 철학의 핵심 개념인 현실적 존재에 대한 이해를 심화할 수 있다.

The purpose of the study is to find out the qualities of A. N. Whitehead\ s actual entities and educated man. To begin with, to know the presupposition of human being, the qualities of an actual entity were investigated. The qualities of an actual entity were concluded as ones which have the qualities of relatedness, subject-superject and creativity. Then the qualities of the educated man were investigated based on 『The Aims of Education and Other Essays』. The educated man are the one who has the art of the utilization of knowledge, likes to adventure in daily lives with knowledge, can look at things with relation and balanced intellectual attitude, and has style which is the most auster of all mental qualities.
