위키를 활용한 온라인 협동학습 전략이 대학생들의 학습과제 수행 결과 및 태도에 미치는 효과

Effects of Wiki-based Online Collaborative Learning Strategies on University Students Group Coursework Performance and Attitude toward the Use of Wiki

본 연구는 web 2.0 환경을 새로운 학습의 장으로 활용하기 위한 기존의 다양한 교육공학적 연구들의 연속선 위에서, 위키 기반 온라인 협동학습 환경에서 대학생들의 상호작용을 통한 지식의 공유가 학습자들의 학습과제 수행에 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 분석하는데 본 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 84명의 대학교 신입생들을 대상으로 위키를 활용하여 3주 동안 공동과제를 수행하도록 하고, 위키 기반 온라인 협동학습을 통한 학생 상호 간의 피드백 제공 전·후 과제 보고서 내용을 평가하여 동료학생 피드백이 학생들의 학습과제 수행결과에 어떠한 영향을 주었는지 분석하였다. 또한 설문지를 이용하여 학생들이 위키를 활용한 협동학습 환경 및 효과에 대하여 어떠한 태도를 보이는지 알아보았다. 연구결과를 요약하면 첫째, 위키 환경에서 학생들이 동료학생들에게 제공한 피드백은 공동과제 수행 결과 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 주었으며 (t=4.48, p<.05), 둘째, 3주 동안 학생들이 위키 내용을 변경한 총 횟수와 최종 과제 평가 결과 간에는 정적 상관이 있었다(r=.549, p<.05). 셋째, 본 연구의 많은 학생들은 위키가 아이디어를 공유하고 협동과제를 수행하는 데 긍정적인 영향을 주었다고 생각하는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to examine how university students perform their group coursework when they utilize wiki as a tool for collaborative learning. For this study, eighty-four undergraduate students participated in the three-week-long group course work activity. As a group, they produced the first draft of the group assignment and with the peer students feedback, they edited their first draft of the assignment and finalized the assignment as a group. In order to investigate the effects of wiki-based online collaborative learning strategies on students learning outcomes, using the same rubric, the first draft and the finalized one of the group assignment were evaluated and the questionnaire survey was conducted. The results of this study are followings: First, in the wiki-based online collaborative learning environment, the peer feedback on the first draft of the group coursework improved the grade that students got on the finalized group assignment(t=4.48, p<.05). Second, there was a corelation between the quantity of edits on the assignments in wiki and the result of the group coursework performance(r=.549, p<.05). Third, through the students survey results, students showed that they favored the use of wiki for their group coursework because wiki enabled them to work on the assignment together effectively offering valuable feedbacks on each other s ideas.
