초등학교 초임담임교사의 체육 수업관 분석

Analysis on the View of Teaching PE in Novice Elementary Classroom Teacher

본 연구의 목적은 체육을 전공(심화과정)하지 않은 초등학교 초임담임교사가 지니고 있는 체육 수업관에 대해 분석해봄으로써 교사교육 및 현장연수 프로그램에 시사점을 제공하는데 있다. 연구 취지와 목적에 동의한 연구 참여자 4명(남1, 여3)을 대상으로 심층면담, 수업 참여관찰, 관련자료 등의 자료를 수집하였고, 사례기록과 귀납적 범주 분석 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 체육 지도 내용 및 방법에 대한 형성 배경 요인, 가장 좋은 체육수업 분위기, 체육 수업관 형성에 영향을 미친 매체에 대해서는 교육과정이나 초․중등학교 교사 문화 차이에도 불구하고 서로 비슷하였으나, 자신들의 수업관을 실제 수업에 적용하는 데에 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 가장 부족한 점으로는 효율적인 학생 통제와 교사 자신의 시범에 의한 수업지도 방법이었고, 체육수업에서 가장 시급히 개선되어야 하는 수업 여건에서 체육 교구 및 설비 확보 문제가 여전히 정상적인 체육수업 운영의 방해 요인이 되고 있었다. 하지만 무엇보다도 체육수업 진행에 대한 책임 및 책무감이 직접 피부로 느껴지는 실제 현장에서의 체육수업 준비 및 진행에 많은 부담을 겪고 있었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the viewing of teaching physical education(PE) in novice elementary classroom teacher who was not majoring in PE in elementary teacher education. Data were collected using interviews, participant observation and documents, and analyzed through inductive categorical technique. Results implied that novice classroom teachers were similar to forming factor on teaching content and method, climate of effective PE class, and media affecting view of teaching despite of the cultural difference between elementary and secondary teachers. Also, they have experienced difficulty in applying view of teaching to actual class, controling students effectively, and showing demonstration in teaching method. Based on the results, novice classroom teachers have not formed view of teaching PE. Also, after they are in charge of the classroom, they have felt much burden on teaching PE class.
