핵심역량 중심의 초등영어 교재 연구

Developing Elementary School English Teaching Materials Focused on Key Competencies

본 연구는 핵심역량 중심의 교수․학습에 도움을 주고자 2015개정 교육과정에서 새롭게 강조하고 있는 자기주도적 학습 역량, 창의적 사고, 종합적 사고에 초점을 맞추어 이들을 구현할 수 있는 초등영어 과업을 제안하였다. 자기주도적 학습과 관련해서 시범단원을 중심으로 자기주도적 학습의 구성요소를 살펴보았고, 창의적 사고력 개발을 위해서는 창의성 요소 분석 기준에 따라 현행 초등영어 4학년 교과서 일부를 창의성 요소 관점에서 비교한 후 창의적 사고를 자극할 수 있는 과업 유형을 제안하였다. 마지막으로 종합적 사고력 개발을 목표로 한 교과 핵심역량 중심의 교과통합 과업과 프로젝트를 예시하였다. 본 연구는 교사와 교재 개발자들에게 핵심역량 중심의 교재 개발을 위한 안내가 될 수 있다는 점에서 의미가 있다고 생각된다.

This study aims to design and develop some English tasks to foster Korean elementary school student s self-directed learning competence, comprehensive and creative thinking potentials, which are the key elements of 2015 revised Korean national curriculum. For the purpose, the strategies for developing English lessons were looked into with the pilot lessons developed by KICE. Next, the tasks of current elementary school English textbooks were analyzed to find out their creative thinking types, and some of them were adapted in the form of fostering creativity. Finally, some projects and tasks based on integrated curriculum were suggested to show their effectiveness of eliciting various creative thinking types in elementary school English classroom. The present study is expected to be helpful for elementary school English teachers and English textbook writers to develop the textbooks which reflect the purpose of 2015 revised national curriculum.
