초등 교과서의 디자인 요소에 대한 교과서 전문가의 평가유형 연구

A Study on the Appraisal Types of Textbook-Experts for the Design Elements in the Elementary School Textbook: Concentrated on Q-Methodology

본 연구는 초등 교과서의 디자인 요소에 대한 전문가들의 평가를 유형화하는 연구로서 초등 교과서의 디자인 부문의 개선 필요성과 방향성을 파악해보고자 하는 연구목적을 수행하기 위하여 Q-방법론을 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 총 4가지의 유형으로 분류되었는데, 각 유형마다 특성 및 차이가 검증되었다. 이처럼 교과서의 디자인 부문에 대한 평가와 의견이 유형별로 다르다는 것은 디자인 전반에 대한 관심을 기울여야 함을 의미한다. 특히, 디자인에 대한 집필자-편집․제작자-이용자 간의 커뮤니케이션이 필요하다는 것이 이 연구를 통해 도출되었다. 기획 이전에 충분한 조사가 이루어짐으로써 이용자 중심의 편익성을 반영해야 할 것이다. 초등 교과서의 제작에 있어 삽화, 사진 및 편집 등 디자인 요소의 개선을 위해서는 교과서 제작과정에서 추구하는 전문성 및 심미성 못지않게 저평가되고 있는 공익성과 청렴성, 안전성 등을 충족시키는 디자인으로 그리고 장식성 이미지나 작은 요소에 이르기까지 문화적 사명으로 설계하고 기획해야 할 것이다.

This is to study the appraisal types of textbook experts, how they regard the design elements of elementary school textbooks, proposing somewhat of better design and directivity. The analysis of Q-methodology showed the four types as follows. The first type regarded text contents - speciality as important, the second type external design - administrative support as important, the third type illustration contents - users benefit as important, and the fourth type composite esthetics as important. These differential evaluations and views on the textbook design elements require us to concentrate on the overall elements of textbook design. Particularly, from this study we deduced that it should be necessary for some communication among writers, editors, and users to produce the user-centered elementary school textbook. For improvement of design elements such as illustration, photograph, edit and so on in the elementary school textbook production, the elementary school textbook should be planned and designed totally in the viewpoint of publicity, integrity, safety and so on, as well as speciality and esthetics, as for even the small design elements of icons, decorative images with cultural mission.
