인디뮤지션 교육정책 패러다임의 전환에 대한 고찰

The Paradigm Change of Current Education policy in a Field of indie musicians: Focusing on indie musicians’ Education experience and Characteristics of Education System

대중음악에 대한 관심이 폭발적으로 증가하며 각종 매체들이 음악을 매개로 한 프로그램들을 쏟아내고 있지만, 음악을 구현하는 주체인 뮤지션, 특히 상업적 주류장르에서 벗어나 음악의 다양성을 제공하는 원천으로 뿌리의 역할을 하는 인디뮤지션들의 교육의 기회와 환경에 대해서는 이해와 연구가 부족했다. 본 연구는 인디뮤지션의 교육현황을 진단하고, 인디뮤지션을 육성할 수 있는 양질의 교육기회 제공과 교육환경 조성에 기여할 수 있는 대안을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 온라인 설문조사(RQ1), 2차 자료 조사(RQ2), 인디음악 관계자를 대상으로 한 심층 인터뷰 (RQ3)를 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 제기되는 문화정책적 함의는 첫째, 교육기관 의 경험이 있는 뮤지션들과 정규교육기관의 경험없이 개인의 노력에 의지하는 뮤지 션으로 양극화된 인디뮤지션들에게 교육기회의 확장이 필요하다는 것이다. 둘째, 양적규모의 팽창에도 불구하고 획일화된 교육과정, 이론중심 교육으로 인한 실기교육의 부족, 음악 장르의 편중으로 인한 마이너 장르에 대한 교육의 부재, 해당 교과목과 상이한 전공자들의 지도 등 대중음악 교육환경의 개선이 요구된다, 셋째, 창작에 대한 지원, 창작물을 연습할 수 있는 공간, 그리고 이를 공연을 통해 공개하고 공유할 수 있는 환경을 조성하는 정책수립이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다.

As interests about pop music are increased, various media have pushed out music programs, and even though indie musicians are major sources who provide a musical variety outside the commercial mainstream genre, it lacked that understanding and research about the education opportunities & environment of indie musicians. This study is to diagnose the educational status of indie musicians, and to seek alternatives that can contribute to educational opportunities and the educational environment for fostering indie musicians. Implications for the cultural policy which are based on the online survey (RQ1), primary data research (RQ2), and depth interviews (RQ3 are as follows:. First, it needs an expansion of education opportunities for polarized indie musicians; who rely on individual efforts without any experience of formal education institutions and who have experience in education. Second, the qualitative improvement of education about standardized curriculum, theory-based education due to a lack of practical training, training for members of the minor genre due to the bias of musical genres, led by its different subjects & majors, and etc. is needed. Finally, it needs to establish policies to support creations, to provide space which is able to practice creations, and to produce the performing environment.
