아동의 대인관계역량과 시민의식의 관계에서 부모지지의 매개효과

The Mediating Effects of Parent Support on Relations between Children s Relationship Competence and Citizenship : multi-group analysis of poor and common families

본 연구는 아동의 대인관계역량이 시민의식에 미치는 과정에서 부모지지가 매개하는지 검증하고 이들의 관계에서 아동이 인식하는 빈곤가정과 일반가정에 따라 집단 간의 차이가 있는지를 검증하고자 수행되었다. 연구대상은 한국청소년정책연구원의 2015년 한국아동청소년 역량 측정조사에 선정된 초등학생 총 2,867명이다. 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동의 대인관계역량은 시민의식에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아동의 부모지지가 높아질수록 시민의식도 증가하였다. 셋째, 대인관계역량은 부모지지를 매개로 시민의식에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 대인관계역량과 부모지지, 시민의식의 관계에 대한 빈곤가정과 일반가정의 다집단 분석에서는 경로차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 하여 아동의 시민의식 향상을 위한 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

This study set out to test whether parent support would have mediating effects on the influence of children s relationship competence on their citizenship and whether there would be differences in their relations between poor and common families perceived by children. The subjects include total 2,867 elementary school students selected for the 2015 Competence Measurement and Survey of Korean Children and Adolescents by the National Youth Policy Institute. The major analysis results were as follows: first, children s relationship competence turned out to have direct effects on their citizenship; second, the more parent support children received, the higher their citizenship was; third, relationship competence had impacts on citizenship via parent support; finally, there were path differences in relations among relationship competence, parent support and citizenship between poor and common families according to the multi-group analysis results. Based on those findings, the study discussed their implications for the enhancement of children s citizenship.
