대안교육특성화고등학교의 선택교육과정 편성·운영의 실태와 시사점 탐색

Suggestion and Current Conditions of Organization and Implementation of the Elective Curriculum in Specialized High School for Alternative Education(SHSAE)

본 연구는 대안교육특성화고등학교의 선택교육과정 특징을 분석함으로써 고등학 교 선택교육과정 운영에의 시사를 탐색하려는 목적을 지닌다. 이를 위해 2014년 현 재 24개에 달하는 대안교육특성화고의 편성된 교육과정을 분석하여 일반적인 경향 을 도출하고 심층면담 등의 질적 연구를 통해 선택교육과정 운영상의 주요 쟁점을 추출하였다. 그 결과 대안교육특성화고에서는 기초, 탐구, 체육·예술, 생활·교양 전 영역에서 ‘학교선택’과 ‘학생선택’을 골고루 운영하고 있었고, 다양한 특성화 과목의 개설과 학생의 과목(종류 및 개수) 선택권 부여를 통해 개방적인 선택교육과정을 편 성하고 있었다. 또 본 연구에서는 선택교육과정 운영과 관련해서 ‘학교선택’, ‘학생선 택’, ‘과목선택권’이라는 주제로 7개의 쟁점들이 도출되었다. 더불어 대안교육특성화 고의 선택교육과정 운영의 실제가 주는 시사로 ① 선택교육과정 운영에 있어 단위 학교의 의지와 철학의 중요성, ② 선택의 주체와 목적, 대상에 있어 다각화의 전망, ③ 시기별 종합적인 지원 방안의 필요성, ④ 대안교육특성화고의 교육과정 운영의 자율성 보장 및 책무성 제고 등을 논하였다.

The purpose of this study is to research the suggestion to the elective curriculum of high school by analyzing the features of the organization and implementation of the elective curriculum in Specialized High School for Alternative Education, or SHSAE. For it, this study has abstracted main issues in the implementation of elective curriculum through case study and qualitative analyzation and explored general tendencies of elective curriculum which was organized for SHSAE which numbers up to 24, as of 2014. As for the result, in SHSAE, they had actively organized programs for elective curriculum, allowing the students to select their subjects ―kind and number― and opening various specialized subjects, by various operation of students selection and schools selection in all fields of subjects; basic, inquiry, PE & arts, and life living & liberal arts. And, related to student’s choice, school s choice and students’ rights to choose their subjects, seven main issues on the implementation of elective curriculum are analyzed. Finally, as for the organization and implementation of elective curriculum, this study suggests as follows; ① the importance of philosophy and intention of individual schools, ② prospects on diversification on main agent, object and purpose of choice, ③ needs of generalized supporting for each period?short, medium and long term, and ④ assurance for autonomy on curriculum management of SHSAE.
