In order to find out some characteristics of root growth related to resistance of wet-injury of wheat and barley, 24 varieties were investigated root growth and degree of wet-injury at active tillering stage and flowering stage. The resistant varieties have thicker root diameter at both stage and increased number, length and weight of adventitious roots of main stem at flowering stage than those of susceptible varieties.
