Cytological Study on the Chinese Chives Grown under Wild or Cultivated Condition in Korea Ⅰ. Study on the Karyotype of Wild Chinese Chives

Wild Chinese chives grown in Korea were collected from 33 locations and were examined their karyotypes. The numbers of somatic chromosomes of Chinese chives collected from 18 locations were 16 and those collected from 15 locations were 32. The sizes of their chromosomes were similar. But the arm ratios, the kinds and the number of trabant and the karyo-type formulae of their chromosomes were different depending on the locations collected. Specially, a H chromosome of Chinese chives grown at Baegrogdam in Hanra Mt. and at Saeseogpyeongjeong in Jiri Mt. was dwarfishness and the numbers of somatic chromosomes of most Chinese chives grown at Saeseogpyeongjeong were 17.
