Studies on Major Characteristics and A Classification of Lycium chinense Miller in Korea

In order to obtain a basic data for the classification and the breeding of Lycium chinense Miller, this experiments were carried out. The 10 groups were classificated by the degree of stem length, leaf width, the existence of thron and that of positions in stem to the 53 varieties in Korea. The dates of budding, flowering, maturing, leaf yellowing, leaf falling, new leaf emergence on northern varieties were earlier than that of southern. There were highly positive correlation between the date of budding and flowering, budding and maturing, leaf yellowing and new leaf emergence, leaf yellowing and leaf falling, leaf falling and new leaf emergence.
