Fifty five lines of six recommended soybean varieties, which were produced in different regions and cultivated for different number of years after released as farmer’s seed were collected. They were evaluated for the genetic, pathological and ecological degeneration by testing the seed contamination, infection to disease and germination and for its effects on grain yield. Most of the farmer’s seeds collected were subjected to the degeneration, showing the higher rates of SMV infection and seed contamination and the decrease in the seed weight. Bongeui, Dongbuktae, Jangyeupkong and Hill tended to be poorer in yield performances with the year of farmer’s home seed-raising. Depending on the varieties, the grain yield was observed to be closely related to the SMV infection rate and the 100-grain weight in the next generation of collected farmer’s seed, and SMV infection rate was also found to be correlated with the seed contamination rate and the 100-grain weight in the next generation of collected farmer’s seed.
