Studies on Accelerating Generation Advancement in Wheat Breeding Ⅰ. Effects of A Few Treatments on Seed-Green Vernalization in Wheat

In order to conduct effectively wheat breeding by procedure of accerelating generation advancement, some experiments were carried out to seed-green vernalization which is the most effective vernalization method of wheat and barley. By this study, it seemed that wheat was vernalized effectively when growing point of bud was illuminated constantly by Vitalux-A in the low temperature room of 8℃. And the more it lengthened the period of covering soil, the later heading date became. The growth of wheat was bad when planting density was higher than 3.3 × 3㎝ per plant and fertilizer level was excessive or too little. There were scarcely the effects of nursery case, transplanting and soil condition after seed-green vernalization on the growth and development of wheat.
