The main contents of revised labor law in Vietnam analyzed through this study are as follows. First, the direction of the revision of the Vietnamese labor law is as follows: a) Basically, contents for protection of workers’ interests, b) gradual reflection of the needs of business organizations, c) disagreement with other laws. Major revisions since 2013 include: a) an increase in the probation salary (70% to 85%), b) Extension of lunar holiday period by one day, c) Extension of maternity leave (4 to 6 months), d) Establishment of short-time worker and employee dispatching system, e) Minimum wage increase rate/overtime hours and allowances /work permit/social insurance premium for foreign workers, f) Establishment of labor- management cooperation committee, g) Enhancement of workers’ rights, h) Reflect user requirements, i) The expiration of irregular employment contract term and the automatic conversion of regular employees. In particular, in the case of new entrants in Vietnam, first, thorough preparation for the obligation to establish a labor-management cooperation committee. Second, preparations and efforts to prevent issues from raising workers’ rights. Third, appropriate comments on utilization of user requirements and their utilization. Fourth, it is necessary to prepare and cope with the expiration of the contract period of irregular workers and the response to the automatic conversion of regular employees in advance.
