Hibiscus syriacus L. 花冠의 몇 形質의 遺傳現象

Inheritance of some characters of corollas in hibiscus syriacus L.

Studies were carried on the intraspecific hybrids of Hibiscus syriacus which were different in the petal numbers, and progenies of open pollinated of “Lucy”, and the following results were obtained. 1. The seed fertilities of F₁ was quite similar among H. syriacus and their variant. However, size of pollen grains and guard cells was different, respectively. 2. Petal of corolla and flower color in F₁ between single petal and semidouble petal varied. Accordingaly, the factors for the corolla shape and color may be represented by multiple genes. 3. Corolla shape and color in F₁ progenies by open pollinated of “Lucy” were varied. 4. The new strains were obtained from progenies of controlled and open pollination.
