Studies on rapid advancement of generations for breeding efficiency promotion of rape oil improvement Ⅴ. Growth and seed production ability of summer cultured rape(brassica napus L.) in alpine area

The present reserach was conducted to explore the possibilities of seed production ability and generation shortening of summer cultured rape (Brassica napus L.) without vernalization during the non-flowering period in alpine area. When rapes belonging to spring nature degree Ⅳ were planted in Apr.25 and May 20, all plants bolted and flowered, and average days from planting to bolting and flowering were 54 and 67, respectively. It took 105 days for Apr.25 planted, and 99 days for May 20 planted to maturity. Seed yield of summer cultured rape was 196kg and 84kg per 10a for Apr. 25, May 20 planted, respectively. Thus, it was considered to be possible that seed by culture of summer season could be produced in alpine area.
