텍스트성을 활용한 텍스트 충실히 읽기 지도의 가능성과 의의

The possibility and significances of utilizing Textuality as teaching of reading text with fidelity

본고는 읽기와 읽기 지도에서 텍스트성을 활용함으로써 얻을 수 있는 의의를 살 펴보고자 하였다. 텍스트성은 보그란데와 드레슬러가 제안한 텍스트의 구성적 원리 로서 일곱 가지 텍스트성 자질을 말한다. 본 연구에서는 이 텍스트성이 읽기 영역에 서 텍스트 중심 읽기 전략으로 기능하여 학생들이 글에 충실한 의미를 구성할 수 있 게 할 것으로 보았다. 이를 예시하기 위하여 텍스트성을 활용하여 글을 읽는 하나의 사례를 제시하였다. 이를 통해 텍스트성을 활용한 읽기가 가능하며 텍스트성이 글을 충실히 읽고 그 의미를 정교하고 폭넓게 구성하는 데 기여함을 보이고자 하였다. 그 리고 텍스트성과 관련하여 학생들의 실제 읽기에서 나타나는 문제를 살펴보았다. 텍스트성을 활용한 읽기와 읽기 지도는 다음과 같은 점에서 의의가 있다. 첫째, 텍스트성을 활용한 읽기는 학생들에게 읽기의 대상인 글에 주목하게 할 것이다. 둘 째, 읽기의 과정에서 일곱 가지 텍스트성에 의거하여 텍스트를 보다 꼼꼼하고 치밀 하게 충실히 읽을 수 있도록 할 것이다. 셋째, 텍스트성은 글에 대한 학생들의 사실 적, 추론적, 비판적 이해 기능을 보다 정교하게 신장시킬 수 있는 읽기 전략으로 기 능할 수 있다. 넷째, 학생들에게 읽기 방법에 대한 일반적이고 체계적인 틀을 제공 해 줄 수 있다. 다섯째, 텍스트성을 중심으로 한 읽기는 텍스트를 텍스트답게, 텍스 트의 개별성에 충실하게 읽는 데 직접적으로 소용될 수 있다.

This study intends to get several significances from reading and teaching of reading focused on Textuality. This Textuality means seven Textualities which Beagrande & Dressler suggest as primary standards in order that text can be constructed as it is. This study supposed that this textuality, by functioning the text-oriented reading strategy, helps students to produce the significant meanings which are originated from the text with fidelity, not from insufficient background knowledge, that is, they think as they wishes without reference to the text. Therefore a sample of reading focused on textuality is suggested first, which shall be demonstrated that Textuality-focused reading is possible, and It is also suggested that Textualities are effective means to read the text faithfully and to construct and organize the meaning intensively, elaborately, and extensively. Subsequently, the matters in readings in the case of students are mentioned. Textuality-focused reading and teaching of reading have remarkable meanings as follows: 1. Textuality-focused reading and teaching of reading leads the students to the text that they read just as it is. 2. It helps for students to read the text more faithfully and precisely by referencing the textuality. 3. Textuality can be utilized as the text-oriented reading strategy, which can improve the factual, inferential, dianoetic and critical reading skills. 4. It can be provide the general and systematic guideline in reading to students. 5. It can be in direct use of reading the text as being worthy of text, and of reading the text truly and devotedly with regard to the individuality and thisness of text.
