Haploids from tetraploid potato cultivars were extracted through parthenogenesis after interploid crosses using pollinators homozygous for embryo spot. Thirteen tertraploid cultivars including Irish Cobbler, Superior, Dejima were used as female seed parents. As male pollinators, 1.22, Ivp 35 and other HES clones were used. All of these clones are homozygous for embryo spot. Brick cultivation of female plants and supplemented illumination for long day length suppressed tuber formation and increased flowering and berry setting. Efficiency of pollination was much higher in spring than in fall. The percentages of berry set were higher in varieties Superior, Irish Cobbler, W726, and Konafubuki. The number of seeds edper fruit was higher in Superior and Shepody, 13.6 and 11.6 seeds, respectively. The clone 1.22 was the most effective pollinator with an average of 2.7 non-embryo spot seeds per berry.
