Old references related to agriculure in Korea Ⅴ. Kinds and varieties of medicinal plants(1700-1888)

More than 230 kinds of old books concerned with agriculture were published duration of Chosun-dynasty (Yi-dynastv) in Korea. Medicinal plants were illustrated and described in 18 kinds of old books among those 230 kinds of old publications concerned with agriculture. More than 30 kinds of medicinal trees were illustrated in 12 kinds of old books related to agriculture, and more than 120 kinds of medicinal herbs were also illustrated in 16 kinds of old books related to agriculture. Detail descriptions for many kinds of medicinal plants were found in several old books named Sanrimkyongje(1643-1715), Jungbo-Sanrimkvongje(1766), Hoosaengrok(1767), Haedong-Nongseou(1798-1799), and Yimwon-Kyungjeji(1842-1845), etc. Varietal illustrations were appeared in just three books for just three medicinal plants, lilies, ginger and sansa plants, respectively.
