교사들의 영성을 위한 교사 교육의 방향

Directions in Teacher Education for Spirituality of Teachers

본 연구의 목적은 예비교사와 현직교사들의 영성을 위한 교사 교육과정의 방향을 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 교육에서 영성의 개념, 교사들의 영성을 위한 교사 교 육의 목표와 방안을 논하였다. 영성이란 종교성을 포함한 인간 본성으로, 초월성, 연 결성, 전인성, 정의 실현의 특성을 갖는다. 영성이 교육에서 중요한 이유는 학습자들 로 하여금 학습내용과 삶과의 상호연관성을 깨닫게 해주고, 전인적인 삶, 실존적인 삶, 진정한 삶, 정의로운 삶을 추구하도록 도와주기 때문이다. 교사의 영성을 위한 교사 교육의 목표는 다음과 같이 개발되었다. 이들은 서로 분리된 목표가 아니라 서 로 영향을 주는 연관된 목표들이다. 첫째, 현존하는 문화를 비판하고 변화를 초래할 수 있는 의식의 변환, 둘째, 생태주의 세계관과 공동체를 위한 교육, 셋째, 삶의 모든 면을 위한 전인 교육, 넷째, 배려, 긍휼, 정의를 위한 윤리 교육이다. 명상 활동, 봉사 학습, 비판적 반성과 영적 반성을 할 수 있는 교사 교육과정이 교사들의 영성을 위한 유력한 방법으로 도출되었다. 이를 통해 예비교사와 교사들이 존재론적인 정체성을 확인하고, 교육에 책임과 헌신을 다하며, 교직에 대한 소명의식을 찾을 수 있기를 기 대한다.

This study aims to explore directions towards teacher education for spirituality of preservice and inservice teachers. To achieve this purpose, this study examines the concepts of spirituality in education, the goals and directions in teacher education for teachers spirituality. Spirituality embraces religiosity and is characterized with transcendence, connection, wholeness, and justice-making. The significance of spirituality in education is that spirituality encourages learners to realize the interconnected relationships among themselves, teachers, and academic courses, and pursuit holistic, existential, and authentic life. The goals of teacher education for teachers spirituality are developed. Transformation of consciousness, ecological worldview and community education, whole-child education, and ethical education are mutually beneficial and integrated goals. The ways of teacher education program for spirituality of teachers are formulated. These are meditation, service learning, critical reflection, and spiritual reflection. Through this process, teachers are expected to find their existential identities, be fostered with responsibility and commitment to education and awaken the calling as teachers.
