The purpose of this study intends to examine the relationship between personal characteristics of small business entrepreneurs and performance. Based upon the extant study we developed the hypotheses on the demographic and psychological characteristics of small business entrepreneurs and performance. We collected survey data from 410 entrepreneurs. The hypotheses were testified using multiple regression analysis. The results show that age, advice from venture consulting organization, practical and venturing experiences are significantly influenced to performance. In addition, in psychological characteristics of small business entrepreneurs need for achievement, locus of control, and tolerance for ambiguity are significantly influenced to performance. The implications and limitations of this study are mentioned further.
