The Study on the Analysis of the Economic Outcome of Regional Credit Guarantee System

In the wake of weak domestic demand and economic recession from the global financial crisis occurred in late 2008, both the central government and the local governments of Korea have drastically expanded the credit supply for small & micro enterprises through the massive contribution to guarantee funds in order to free up the flow of fund. Recently, “Sunshine Loan Guarantee Program”, petty loans backed by credit guarantee scheme of Regional Credit Guarantee Foundations, has been launched and widely accepted by the working classes. This study attempts to measure and to analyze the performance in terms of economic impact of Regional Credit Guarantee System which supports the funding for small & micro enterprises and the vitalizations of regional economy. This paper analyses the operative situation of credit guarantee foundations and measures the economic outcome in regional economy through an inter-industry analysis. The economic outcome is determined through measuring the effect on production inducement, value added inducement, and labor inducement and through comparing those effects with guarantee outstanding and subrogation amount of regional credit guarantee foundations.
