In order to investigate the relation of disease infection to agronomical characters, K₁ and K₃ races of bacterial blight were inoculated at maximum tillering and booting stages of rice cultivars, “Nagdongbyeo” which is susceptible to K₁ and K₃ races and “Seomjinbyeo” which is resistant to K₁ race, but is susceptible to K₃ race. At inoculation plot of maximum tillering stage of Nagdongbyeo, ripened grain ratio due to K₁ and K₃ races were decreased 17.4% and 9.7%, yield was reduced 14% and 8%, respectively. 1000-grain weight and perfect rice grains were reduced, occurrence of white belly kerneled rice, green kerneled rice and opaque kerneled rice were increased at inoculation plot compared to control. On the other hand, at inoculation plot of maximum tillering stage of Seomjinbyeo plant growth, yield components, yield and grain quality due to K₁ race were not affected, but ripened grain ratio and perfect rice grains were decreased by infection of K₃ race. Howerer, plant growth, yield components, yield and grain quality of two rice cultivars tested due to K₁ and K₃ races were not significantly different at inoculation plot of booting stage.
