경제논리와 교육논리, 상생의 길을 찾아서

A win-win approach to economic logic for education and educational logic for education?

본 연구는 경제논리로 교육을 바라보는 입장과 교육논리로 교육을 바라보는 입장간의 고유한 시각을 고찰하고 기본적인 경제이론을 바탕으로 상호 보완점 을 탐색하여 우리 교육이 당면하고 있는 문제들에 대한 대안적 관점을 제시하 는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 경제학의 기본 개념 중 시장 의 이익과 잉여, 총평균비용과 한계비용의 개념을 살펴보고 이를 바탕으로 교 육의 경제적 측면과 교육적 측면간의 효율적인 접점을 찾아보았다. 먼저, 생산 가능곡선 상에 교육과 교육투자의 성과가 위치하여야 낭비 없고 효율적인 재정 투자가 이루어질 수 있음을 지적하였으며, 둘째, 한계비용곡선과 평균비용곡선 의 교점에서 평균생산물이 최대가 될 수 있다는 점에 착안하여 교육투자의 평 균비용과 한계비용의 교점이 일정한 규모 내에서 최대의 교육성과를 낼 수 있 음을 제안하였다. 셋째, 교육 수요자의 효용이 극대화되는 점과 평균생산물이 최대가 되는 점을 근접시킴으로써 교육논리와 경제논리가 각각의 목적을 최대 로 달성 할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다

The purpose of this study is to consider the unique view point of economic logic for education and educational logic for education, to suggest an alternative perspective through the research based on economics and the unique traits of the economic logic and educational logic. For this purpose, we probed the basic concept of the economics such as equilibrium of demand and supply, producer surplus and consumer surplus, total average cost and marginal cost. And with this results, tried to find out the equilibrium point between the side of education and the side of economy in educational investment. First, the efficient investment of education can be accomplished when the performance level of education and educational investment is on the production possibility frontier curve. Second, on a contact point of marginal cost curve and average cost curve, average product can be the most, so, the best performance would be achieved on the contact point of marginal cost curve and average cost curve of educational investment if it is within a certain scale. Third, in terms of minimizing the gap between the maximum utility point of educational consumers and the maximum point of average product, this suggestion can be a possibility to achieve the objectives of both education logic and economic logic.
