The Investigation on the Early documents for Establishing the System of Techniques in the Traditional Taekwondo

This research proceeds the philological investigation on the four main Taekwondo textbooks published before 1960. Reviewing and analyzing the early techniques of Taekwondo, we investigate the meaning of early Taekwondo techniques, with which we seek to understand the essence of Taekwondo. recently, the system of Taekwondo techniques has been transformed into the various sports culture. This transformation of Taekwondo techniques have become fragmented, particularized and mechanized, which are focused on one specified technique. Thus, this transformation of techniques might creates a crisis in which the techniques of martial arts degenerates to the commercial performance. As such since the techniques of Taekwondo have converted to excessively pragmatic and fragmented, it has neglected the studies of the essence of the systematic techniques of Taekwondo. Hence we need a complementary measure to deal with this problem. in this respect, This research will provide a basic material for establishing the systematic techniques of traditional Taekwondo.
