The RAPD analysis with rapid genomic DNA extraction method in this study showed that the genotyping of plant species could be performed with relatively simple and economic method. The amount of extracted DNAs from a leaf disc was sufficient to carry out more than 100 PCR reactions, which make possible early diagnosis of the plant genotypes and thus reduce the time and labor to grow the plants until maturity. Cultivars in rice and soybean species were identified by the pattern of PCR amplified DNA fragments. RAPD analysis was also applied to check the genetic changes in somaclones of hare’s ear, from which many changes were observed among nineteen somaclones.
