Once war was terminated, selection process for commendation carried out from March 1601 to October 1604. In discusion, ministers and officers suggested to select war heros first as a model and encourage people to sacrifice for country in next national crisis, however King Sunjo, ranaway from capital to Uijoo when japanese invaders approached, insisted on awarding his personal secretariats and deputies as if they did something great to save his country. He added honors criteria that Ming’s emperor and army saved his country. Accordingly he deserved the highest feat because he ordered to call Ming’s army. He acted as if many national war heroes and good subordinates were threat to his throne. Finally, he credited his secretariats and deputies as war heroes and many dead soldiers and sailors passed away wihtout citation. The runaway king tried to cover up his faults by twisting selection criteria and awarding secretariats! and deputies.
