Differences of fullness in pods and seeds among branches and effective cleaning methods for seed production in Chinese cabbage

This experiment was conducted to investigate differences of fullness in pods and seeds among branches, and to find the most effective method of seed cleaning applied by various cleaning methods in Chinese cabbage cultivated at seed production field. Chinese cabbage cultivated at seed production field produced the low ratio of mature seeds from main stem and first branch to third branch in subsequence. Viability of seeds harvested at optimum harvesting date and five days after optimum harvesting date were better than those at five days before optimum harvesting date. To improve the quality of seeds in Chinese cabbage at seed production field were as follows; First, cleaning by specific gravity seperator, and Second, recleaned the seeds by wind blower with wind speed 4.6~6.6 m/s, and then by sieve cleaner with sieve size 1.5~2.0 mm.
