본 연구는 부모의 낙관성이 자녀의 낙관성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 부모 의 낙관성과 자녀의 낙관성 사이에서 부모의 긍정적 강화와 부모-자녀 의사 소통 유형의 매개 효과를 살펴봄으로써 부모-자녀 관계에 대한 이해를 도모 하고 학교장면에서 교사와 상담자의 개입 방안에 관한 시사점을 얻고자 하였 다. 본 연구를 위하여 경기도에 소재한 2개 초등학교의 학생 352명과 그들의 부모를 대 상으로 ‘부모와 자녀의 낙관성 척도’(LOT-R, YLOT), ‘부모의 긍정적 강화 척도’ 및 ‘부모-자녀 의사소통 유형 척도’를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였고, Pearson 상관관계 분 석, 단순회귀분석, 위계적 중다회귀분석, Sobel 검증을 통하여 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 낙관성은 자녀의 낙관성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모의 긍정적 강화는 부모의 낙관성이 자녀의 낙관성에 미치는 효과를 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부모-자녀 의 사소통 유형은 부모의 낙관성이 자녀의 낙관성에 미치는 효과를 완전 매개하는 것으 로 나타났다. 따라서 자녀의 낙관성 증진을 위해서는 부모의 긍정적 강화와 부모-자 녀 의사소통 유형을 확인하고 이를 증진하고 개선시킬 수 있는 개입이 선행되어야 함 을 알 수 있었다. 더불어 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of parents optimism on child s optimism and the mediating effects of parental positive reinforcement and parent-child communication style. A sample of 352 children and their parents from two elementary schools in Gyeonggi-do completed a set of questionnaire: the Optimism Scale(LOT-R, YLOT), the Child s Perceived Parental Positive Reinforcement Scale, and the Parent-child Communication Inventory. Data were analyzed with statistical method of Pearson correlation coefficient, standard regression, and hierarchical multiple regression, and Sobel test. Results indicated the followings: First, parents optimism has a significant effect on child s optimism. Second, parental positive reinforcement completely mediates the effect of parents optimism on child s optimism. Third, parent-child communication style completely mediates the effect of parents optimism on child s optimism. Findings demonstrate the importance of parental positive reinforcement and parent-child communication style to promote child s optimism. Implications and suggestions were discussed.
