대화 형식 동시를 활용한 협력 기반 활동 중심 초등 영어 지도

This study aims at investigating the effects of cooperative learning-based activities using dialogue pattern poetry on the teaching of primary English. Twenty-five fifth graders participated in the study. Two research questions were set up: 1) what are some effects of cooperative reading-based activities using dialogue pattern poetry on primary English learners’ reading fluency and confidence? 2) what features are shown in children’s writing development through cooperative reading-based activities? To find answers to these questions, data were collected from students’ interviews, surveys, learning logs, and worksheets for qualitative analysis. Additionally, students’ oral reading speed and accuracy were measured and calculated to supplement descriptive data. The first finding demonstrated that cooperative reading-based activities using dialogue pattern poetry helped students improve their reading fluency and enhance the quality of reading. It also positively influenced students’ confidence in speaking English. The second finding showed that cooperative writing was helpful to encourage and motivate students to write creative stories of their own. Based on the results, implications and suggestions are provided.
