욕구 중심 디자인 사고과정(Design Thinking Process) 경험의 개발 및 적용

Development and Implementation of the Experience of the Design Thinking Process Based on Human Needs

본 연구의 목적은 욕구를 중심으로 한 디자인 사고과정 교과목을 개발하고 적용하여 4차 산업혁명 시대를 준비하는 새로운 학습자중심 교육 방법의 기초를 마련하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 강의방식으로 운영해 온 충남소재 D대학의 교양교과목을 디 자인 사고과정 경험으로 개선하여 운영하고 개선 전후의 차이를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 디자인 사고과정 경험은 대학생의 욕구 이해, 욕구를 고려한 학습전략 수립, 수업만족도에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 디자인 사고과정을 경험 한 학습자의 욕구 충족을 위한 환경 개선 능력은 통제집단보다 높게 나타났지만 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 없는 것으로 드러났다. 또한 디자인 사고과정 경험은 남학생과 인문사회과학 계열의 학습자의 경우 인간의 욕구 이해, 학습 환경 설계에 더 긍 정적인 효과가 있었다. 이상을 바탕으로 인간다운 문제 인식과 문제해결 역량 향상을 위한 대학 교양교과목의 개발 및 운영 시 시사점을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to develop and apply the experience of the design thinking process based on human needs as a new teaching and learning method in preparation for the fourth industrial revolution. For this purpose, the investigator improved a liberal arts course at D University in Chungnam Province from centering on lectures to focusing on design thinking process. The course was incorporated in the second semester of the 2017. The study analyzed the achievement of the course before and after the improvement. The findings show that experiences with the design thinking process had positive effects on the students’ ability to understand human needs, to establish learning strategies considering needs, and attending satisfaction. However, the ability to improve environmental conditions for satisfying human needs was higher for the improved class participants than the control group but it was not statistically significant. The design thinking experience had more positive effects on male college students and those who were in the humanities and social science departments than female college students and those who were in other departments with respect to the understanding of human needs and design of a learning environment. Based on these findings, the study offers several implications for the development and management of a college-level liberal arts course that improves students’ capabilities of recognizing and solving human issues.
