The pupose of this study trìes to describe and figure out the significance and value of the programs of the Folklore Plays in childhood. It shows traditional plays give the positive inf1uence to the children not only cognitive aspects but cultural, emotinal and cooperate aspects. Usually, Korean children’s play has been restricted due to rheir parεnts control to urge them only to study of 5choo1. So, the impression of children’s play in Korea has shown 50me negative characters. Perspeaives on children s play have been changed according to the times and contexts. The importance of chíldren’s play is based on thε fact that play is the form of life and instinaíve behavior. Children are learning through experíence, and chíld’s experience is based on play. But most of the utilíty of the modern playíng ínstruments has been focused on the cognitive abilities. Modern plays and games shows selfish and competitive activíties rather than (i∞peration and partnership. It is retlectíng that children are living ìn a hìghly competítive society for high academic achievement. Moreover, the playing tools are 50 commercialize and expensive in modern society that most of the people couldn’t use them. To encouragε playing the traditional games, it is veηT urgent problem to prepare for the playing ground above all things. And then developìng and rnanufacturing methods and materials about sεlected folklore plays, which can be easily utilized for chíldren.
