‘백워드 교육과정 설계’를 활용한 2009 개정 초등학교 교육과정의 자율화 모형 개발

Model of Autonomic Implementation for 2009 Revised National Curriculum in Elementary School Based on Backward Design Method

최근에 들어 위깅스와 맥타이는 ‘백워드 교육과정 설계’라는 기법을 제안한 바 있다. 이 기법은, ‘백워드’라는 용어가 시사하는 바와 같이, 기대하는 결과를 설정하 는 데에서 시작하여 수용 가능한 증거를 결정한 이후에 학습경험 및 수업을 계획하 는 일련의 과정으로 이루어져 있다. 본 논문은 이 기법을 활용하여 2009 개정 초등 학교 교육과정의 자율화 모형을 개발하는 데에 목적을 두고 있다. 그 기법에 따르 면, 교육과정 자율화 모형의 개발에서 가장 먼저 수행해야 할 일은 교육과정의 목 적을 설정하고 그것에 일관된 수용 가능한 증거를 결정하는 일이다. 교육과정에서 자율화 할 항목을 결정하는 일, 수업시수를 확보하는 일, 수업전략을 계획하는 일 등은 그 이후에 진행된다. 물론, 학교교육과정위원회는 그 일을, 기계적인 방식으로 처리하는 것이 아니라, 상황에 따라 융통성 있게 수행할 수 있다. 그리하여 백워드 교육과정 설계 기법에 근거하여 개발되는 2009 개정 초등학교 교육과정 자율화 모 형은, 본문의 <그림 2>를 통해서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이, 수업 혹은 그 계획에 앞서 융통성 있게 평가 계획을 세우고 확인하는 것을 핵심적인 아이디어로 삼고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to develop the model of autonomic implementation for 2009 revised national curriculum in elementary school based on backward design method devised by Wiggins and McTighe. Backward design method is started with selecting expected outcomes. The next step of it is to determine evidences which show somebody to achieve the aims, and that is followed by the step of planning learning experience and instruction. According to the method, it is urgent tasks to select aims of curriculum and to determine evidences for these aims in developing the model of autonomic implementation for curriculum. It is the next step to design the teaching strategies as selecting the autonomic items of curriculum and securing the times for it etc. Of course, all of it is conducted by Committee of School Curriculum generally. But, the committee does not have to conduct in mechanical way. In every case, flexibilities are the heart of the conducts of the committee. Consequently, to determine the evidences and to conduct with flexibilities become to the point of the model of autonomic implementation for 2009 revised national curriculum in elementary school based on backward design method.
