幕夏堂의 文學

On Mohadang s Literary Work

Mohang(幕夏堂) is a pennne of Kim 1∞ng-Sun(金忠善). He was a Japanese bom in Japan. He disliked savagery of his native country, Japan and admired the O&ugrave;nese dvilization len Gato Giyomasa(加藏淸正) invaded Korea and picked out him as left van commender. Crossing over the sea to Korea he was strucked with admiration for Korean dvilization and was naturalized as a Korean cien. He foult on against the Japanese 501ers and achieved brilliant results. Besides he subdued the agitation of lee Gual(李造) and safeguarded the frontier district. He rendered devoted service to Korea. As a result he was awarded the full name and the title of nobility. Not only being a brave soldier, he wrote liter, works. He built up a site in Rokchon(麗村) for ling and wrote <Rokchon-ji(塵村>. After that he built Mohadang(幕훌堂) implying admiration of oriental civilization and late on wrote <Mohadang-(幕夏堂記)>. These works are records of his living intention. In addition to these works, he wrote some pieces of αlinese poems. Prolhly he leamt the αinese literature in Japan. Moreover he wrote :&igrave;oolhoe-ga(述懷歌)> in Gasa style expressing his inmost thoults. In the war of lt in( 千辰) he wrote letters to l..ee Duk-Heng( 李德뿔) and Jung Chul(鄭澈). Park In-Ro( 朴仁老) was contempor, with him in neilbourhood. These were men of letters. Particurarly laer two men wrote many works in Gasa sle and had an important effect upon Kim ch∞n-Sun. He looked back his seventy years of life and a thousand emotions crowded on his mind. Expressing these crowded emotions, he handed down instruction to posteri. As a result of these, he wrote this work :&igrave;oolhoe-ga. 50 this work is his life story.
