A Case Studyon the Sustainable Cultural Tourism Development

이 연구는 특정 지역의 고유한 생활문화를 관광의 자원으로 활용하는 적절한 방안의 모색을 지향하고 있다. 이를 위해 독특한 경관, 생태 및 문화적 특성을 간직한 제주도의 향토음식을 관광자원으로 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제주도의 음식특화거리를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 제주도의 곳곳에 조성된 음식특화거리의 현황을 통해 드러난 문제점을 살펴보고, 음식특화거리의 활성화를 위한 개선점을 모색하였다. 이 과정에서 전통음식의 보존과 관련된 진정성, 음식특화거리의 공간성과 관련된 접근성, 관광상품화를 위한 식단의 다양성, 음식특화거리의 조성 및 관리와 관련된 체계성을 홍보성과 연관하여 검토하였다. 생활문화의 적절한 관광자원화는 지속가능한 관광개발과 문화적 도시재생의 기본 이념을 전제할 때 바람직한 방안을 기대할 수 있다.

This Study focuses on the way how to utilize living culture which is specific to a certain area as tourism resources. For this purpose, the food specialized streets in Jeju-do island were selected as research subjects. Jeju-do island is one of famous international tourist attractions in Korea with its unique landscape, ecology and living culture. Authenticity of food in Jeju-do island, spatial features with relation to accessibility to food specialized streets in Jeju-do island, development of food diversity as sightseeing merchandise and systemicity for construction and management of food specialized streets are analyzed to vitalize food specialized streets in Jeju-do island. The basic notions of sustainable tourism development and cultural urban regeneration should be applied to find desirable ways for utilizing living culture as tourism resources.
