남북한 교육의 민족주의 담론 분석

Analysis of South and North Koreas education according to the modernist theory of nationalism

이 논문은 남북한 교육을 근대론적 민족주의론에 따라 분석한 후 통일교육에 대한 함의를 제시하고자 하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 남북한 교육은 근대국가를 수립하고 국민을 형성하기 위해 민족주의를 적극 활용하여 왔다. 둘째, 남북한 교육은 지배 이데올로기와 민족주의를 적극적으로 결합함으로써 체제유지 및 강화에 민족주의 교육을 적극 활용하여 왔다. 셋째, 남북한 교육은 남북한 교육이 추구해 온 민족주의는 원초적 복고적 보수적 민족주의이다. 넷째, 남북한 교육의 민족주의는 민족갈등을 은폐하는 이데올로기적 기능을 수행해왔다. 다섯째, 통일민족주의는 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위한 창조적 민족주의, 성찰적 민족주의, 열린 민족주의이며 이것이 바로 통일교육이 추구해야 할 시대적 과제이다.

This paper aims to analysis the South and North Koreas education according to the modernist theory of nationalism, and to present implications on unification education. The results of this study are as follows. First, the establishment of the modern state and education in the South and North Korea education was done according to the modernist theory of a nationalism. Second, the dominant ideology of South and North Korea education by combining nationalism strengthened the dominant system and power. Third, South and North Koreas education pursued on primitive, conservative nationalism. Fourth, nationalism of South and North Koreas education to cover the conflict has been the ideological function. Fifth, nationalism in a unified Korea is to overcome these problems, is to be creative nationalism, reflexive nationalism, open nationalism and this is a task of the unification education.
