Usefulness of the virtual endoscope in the evaluation of Digestive system

Purpose To evaluate the usefulness of CT virtual endoscope and its spectrum of the application and 3D image reformation. Material & Method This study included 30/367 patientswith stomach disease and colon disease diagnosed on medical examination between November 2004 and January 2005. All CT scans were performed at siemens somatom volume zoom and somatom sensation 16. After volume data were sent to workstation(voxel plus & syngo colon), post-processing was performed to obtain variable CT virtual endoscope image. 1. Protocol 2. Patient position 3. Algorithm & kernel Conlclusion CT virtual endoscope is very useful modality to evaluate colon and stomach and it shows special advantage on patients’ convenience as compared with the conventional endoscope.
