대학생의 접근-회피 동기성향이 학업적 자기조절에 미치는 영향:

The effect of approach-avoidance motivation on academic self-regulation: The mediating effect of self-efficacy

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 접근. 회피 동기성향이 학업적 자기조절에 미치는 영향을 확인하고, 이 때 자기효능감이 매개 변인으로 작용하는지를 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울에 소재한 M대학에 재학 중인 남학생 107명, 여학생 108명의 총 215명이 연구에 참여하였다. 연구결과, 접근, 회피 동기성향이 학업적 자기조절에 미치는 기제가 다르게 나타났다. 먼저, 접근 동기성향은 학업적 자기조절에 정적인 영향 을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 접근 동기성향이 높을수록 학업적 자기조절이 높은 것을 의미한다. 하지만 접근 동기성향이 학업적 자기조절에 영향을 미칠 때, 자기효능감의 매개효과는 존재하지 않았다. 둘째로, 회피 동기성향은 학업적 자기조절에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데, 이는 회피 동기가 높을수록 학업적 자기 조절이 낮아지는 것을 의미한다. 그러나 회피 동기의 경우에는 접근 동기와는 다르게 학업적 자기조절에 직접적으로는 영향을 주지 않았고, 자기효능감을 통해서만 영 향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 회피 동기가 높아지면 자기효능감이 낮아지고, 이는 다시 학업적 자기조절에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구결과의 논의가 제시되었다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of approach motivation and avoidance motivation on academic self-regulation and to examine mediation effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between approach-avoidance motivation and academic self-regulation. A questionnaire survey was conducted for a total of 215 students, 107 male students and 108 female students, attending M University located in Seoul. The results indicated that mechanisms by which approach motivation and avoidance motivation influence academic self-regulation were different. First, approach motivation had a positive effect on academic self-regulation. This means students whose approach motivation was high showed high academic self-regulation. The approach motivation was directly related to academic self-regulation, and the mediation effect of self-efficacy was not significant. Second, avoidance motivation had a negative effect on academic self-regulation, which means students whose avoidance motivation was high showed low academic self-regulation. The mediation effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between avoidance motivation and academic self-regulation was significantly existed. In other words, the students whose avoidance motivation was high showed low self-efficacy, and low self-efficacy led to low academic self--regulation. The avoidance motivation influenced academic self-regulation only though self-efficacy, not directly. Based on these results, the implication was discussed.
