북한의 교육문화에 영향을 준 요인 고찰

The Culture of North Korea s Education

북한의 교육문화는 삼국시대 이후 우리 민족 교육의 핵심을 이루어 온 유교 교육과 36년간의 식민 지배로 인한 일제 식민지 교육의 영향에서 결코 자유로울 수 없다. 또한 북한은 기본적으로 사회주의 국가이다. 따라서 사회주의권 교육이론 역시 북한 교육문화의 성립․ 발전에 있어서 필수적인 요소로 작용한다. 특히 소련의 교육이론과 학교제도는 1945년 이후 주체사상이 본격적으로 등장한 1960년대까지 북한 교육에 결정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 한편 1980년대 이후 소련을 중심으로 동유럽 사회주의 국가들이 붕괴하면서 개혁․개방을 추진하고 있는 중국은 정치․경제․사회의 많은 부분에서 북한에게 역할모델이 되고 있다. 이는 교육 분야도 마찬가지이다. 현재 북한이 개혁․개방의 모색과 함께 시도해보고 있는 교육정 책이 많은 부분 중국의 그것에서 영감을 얻었음을 부인할 수 없는 것이다. 이러한 바탕 위에 지난 50여 년 동안 북한 사회의 지배 이데올로기로 사회 모든 분야에서 절대적인 기준으로 작용한 주체사상의 영향이 오늘날 북한 교육문화의 배경이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 북한 교육이 가지는 다양한 역사적 경험과 교육 문화에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 유교 교육, 일제 식민지 교육, 사회주의 교육이 북한의 교육문화에 반영되고 있는 모습을 고찰할 것이다.

Every study is affected by it s social environment and cultural heritage. North Korea s educational tradition and legacy have an effect on formation and development of North Korea s pedagogy. Accordingly it s useful to put the pedagogy s organization into order for comprehension of North Korea s educational tradition and legacy. First of all Confucian education and Japanese imperialism s colonial policy on education have had a strong influence on North Korea s pedagogy. In the next place Socialistic pedagogy have also exerted influence on North Korea s pedagogy. Especially the Soviet Union s pedagogy had enormous influence on North Korea s education from 1945 till appearance of the Juche ideology in 1960 s. On the other hand China has exercised various influence on North Korea s education since decline in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe s Socialism and China s open-door policy in 1980 s. In this study, this researcher tries to study the formative base of North Korea s pedagogy through comprehending various educational culture and legacy of North Korea s pedagogy. This research tries to study that Confucian education, Japanese imperialism s colonial policy on education and Socialistic education are reflected in North Korea s pedagogy. Finally this researcher looks forward to this study assisting deep understanding of North Korea s pedagogy.
