This study examined the university students’ reactions to an ESP writing course. More specifically, this study investigated the difficulties they faced while taking this course; reactions to brainstorming activity before starting writing; responses to different types of writing activities and different types of feedback they received. The findings showed that the most difficult task in an ESP writing course was expressing their ideas in English. The strong and weak points of brainstorming were also indicated. In addition, the characteristics of each writing type were suggested. Lastly, positive and negative reactions to teacher’s written comments and teacher’s conferences were provided. Educational suggestions will be also described.
