The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of exercise on circulating concentration of Na, K, Ca, and Copper, Zink, Iron. Thirty young female participated in this investigation and divided sedentary high school women (n=15) to basketball players (n=15) with normal menstrual cycle. Venous blood sample was obtained during luteal phase (3day before mense), early follicular phase (during mense), and mid follicular phase (7day after mense). There were no difference between athletic and control group in all parameter. No changes were observed in the concentration of all parameter except sodium and zink which showed significant decrease when blood sample was taken during post menstruation compared to pre menstruation in athletic group. In summaiy chronic exercise affects circulating mineral levels partially, but further investigation needed to elucidate the exact mechanism related to such change.
