The purpose of this study is to understand the problems of current early childhood physical activity education program and stress the importance of the physical activity education during the early childhood by investigating and analyzing the extent of parents’ recognition of the program. Through the research early childhood physical activity turns out to function as a catalyst for early childhood development. Also, the paper provides the materials for the development of the desirable early childhood physical activity program 184 instructors of early childhood education institutions located in Seoul and Kyonggi area were selected as objects of this study. The collected data were analyzed with frequency using a SPSS/PC program and Chi-Square between Parents’ Socio-demographic factors and subordinate factors of the target objects. The result of the research is as follows: 1. The extent of parents’ recognition of the early childhood physical activity program The rate of parents’ understanding of the early childhood physical activity reachs to a great extent but the rate of participating the actual program shows lack of enthusiasm. Now that the importance and necessity of early childhood activity is broadly recognized, overall policy is required in the field of physical education and early childhood education to carry out active early childhood physical activity program. 2. The extent of recognition of the early childhood physical activity the result shows that parents consider the physical activity program as just the game and play rather than specific physical activity program. Therefore professional physical activity program through the unification of play and game is required in order to bring about children’s interest and to cause the children’s proper growth and development. 3. The relation of the parents’ general characteristics and the recognition rate on the early childhood activity program In the investigation of the fact whether the physical activity program is executed or not, the result shows a significant difference in the age of parents and their relationship with the children(P<.05). In the investigation on a preferred physical activity institution, the result shows a significant difference in the age of parents and their relationship with the children(p<.05). In the investigation on a preferred special program the result shows a significant difference in the age of parents and their relationship with the children(p<.05). 4. In the investigation of parents’ general characteristics and recognition rate of professional instructors the result shows a significant difference according to the factor of the professional instructors and the age of parents(p<.05). The result in the above shows that parents have a positive understanding on the early childhood activity program. Therefore the physical activity program is required, which can promote the children’s growth and development and also, the training of professional instructors is necessary to achieve that.
